Lewd tweets on fort bragg account were from administrator, not a hack as army first said

Image: The entrance to Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, N.C., in 2014.

An account administrator is responsible for a series of lewd tweets on the official fort bragg account — comments describing sex acts and pornographic material — not a hack as the army originally said on wednesday.

The fort bragg account took down the tweets within an hour of them being posted and the account was moved offline. The XVIII airborne corps, based at fort bragg, tweeted on wednesday night that the account was hacked.

Earlier this afternoon the fort bragg twitter account was hacked and a string of inappropriate tweets were posted to the account. When made aware, the fort bragg social media team deleted the tweets & temporarily moved the account offline. The matter is under investigation.

— XVIII airborne corps (@18airbornecorps) october 21, 2020

On thursday morning, however, the corps said it had since learned that there was no hack. An administrator for the fort bragg account came forward and took responsibility amid an investigation into the incident on thursday, according to the XVIII airborne.

This morning, at the initiation of an investigation into yesterday’s incident regarding inappropriate tweets on the fort bragg twitter account, an administrator for the account identified himself as the source of the tweets. Appropriate action is underway.

— XVIII airborne corps (@18airbornecorps) october 22, 2020

It’s unclear whether the account administrator was a member of the military or a civilian employee.

The XVIII airborne corps also apologized for its earlier hacking claims after a twitter user accused army officials of lying.

“we were operating off the information . From an initial inquiry,” the account tweeted. “we humbly apologize.”

The fort bragg account, @ftbraggnc, was still offline as of thursday night.

Connecting to mycompass & cerner health

For assistance claiming your email invitation or logging in, please call toll free:
cerner health support – (877) 621-8014

Thank you for visiting a fort healthcare location and requesting access to the mycompass patient portal. After you receive your 4-digit PIN, an email invitation will be sent to the email you provided for your mycompass account. The email invitation will guide you through the sign up steps, both for a cerner health account (which needs to be completed first), and a mycompass account.

Each individual family member will require a unique four digit PIN code for their personal account. A separate email invitation is sent for each account requested. One parent can use a single email address to receive invitations for minor children (under age 18). Each email invitation is matched with only one PIN.

Adults will need to use separate email addresses to ensure patient confidentiality. After accounts are created you may choose to share your access with a spouse, significant other or care giver as you desire.

All family members should complete registration within 90 days of receiving the email invitation as the signup link will expire if not activated within that timeframe.

You will have an opportunity to create personal usernames for each account through the sign-up process. All family members should complete registration within 90 days of receiving the email invitation as the signup link will expire if not activated within that timeframe. If you have questions, please refer to our frequently asked questions page.

Two steps to mycompass

Step 1: open the EMAIL invitation and create your cerner health account

Click on the link provided in your email invitation. Here you will establish your cerner health account first. Family members can later choose to share accounts, where viewing and messaging options are possible.

If you already have a cerner health account, you will be prompted to sign in and then be taken directly to a screen where you verify your four digit PIN code provided to you when you registered for mycompass.

Step 2: approve your connection to mycompass

You will be asked to “approve connection” between the cerner health management account and the mycompass account. This gives cerner health and fort healthcare permission to share your health information within their secure networks.

Or, if you are an existing patient, skip the email invitation process and use our self-enrollment option.

A traditional savings account earns interest based on your daily balance. The minimum daily balance requirement for this account is $20. A minimum balance fee of $2.50 will be assessed each month if the balance of your account falls below $20 any day of the month. This is a tiered rate account.

Regular savings accounts are subject to federally regulated transaction limitations which dictate how many transactions by type can be completed within a monthly service charge period.

Unlimited withdrawals permitted if:
— done in person, by messenger, by mail, or at an ATM.

Up to six (6) transfers a month permitted to another account of the depositor at the same bank or to a third party.

If you exceed the transaction limitations more than twice within a twelve (12) month period, your regular savings account will be closed and transferred to a non-interest bearing checking account and will be subject to the terms and conditions of that account.
